DURING CONSULTATION

At the start of every appointment, we initiate a consultation process. This allows us to carefully assess the specific area(s) of concern and thoroughly review your medical history. It is crucial to provide complete and transparent information about your medical history before undergoing any treatment. This is because certain allergies, skin and neurological conditions, as well as medications, have the potential to compromise your safety or affect the outcome of the treatment.

DURING TREATMENT

First, we will collect a blood sample from you. This sample will then be placed in a centrifuge and spun for approximately 10 minutes. Meanwhile, we will apply topical Lidocaine to the specific areas being treated. This will help alleviate any discomfort and ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. Once the platelets have been separated from the rest of the blood, the nurse will carefully prepare them for your treatment. The PRP can be utilized as a topical serum for microneedling, administered through injections into the skin, or a combination of both methods. The entire procedure typically lasts around 1 hour.

POST-PROCEDURE

You may experience swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness at the injection site for a few hours. The use of Tylenol (acetaminophen) is permitted. If microneedling was also done, you may experience redness and flushing for 24 hours. Skin will feel warm and tight for 12-24 hours.

For 24 hours after treatment, refrain from strenuous physical activity, hot tubs/sauna, facials, alcohol, aspirin, or other over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications or supplements.

A series of 3 treatments is recommended for optimal results. Your nurse will discuss appropriate skincare regimes for post treatment care.
